Families Receive Free School Supplies, Health Screenings, and More at 11th Annual Back to School Health Fair
HILLSIDE, Ill. – House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch hosted his 11th annual Back to School Health Fair on Saturday. Families from across the 7th district attended the event where they were able to receive free physicals, vaccinations, school supplies, and much more.
“The Back to School Health Fair is one of the events that I look forward to hosting every year,” said Speaker Welch. “I love getting to see so many families and kids come out and enjoy some food, music, and games while getting ready for the new school year. Giving back to the community I love is incredibly rewarding, and I’m happy to help our students head back to the classroom healthy and ready to learn.”
At this year’s event, hundreds of families received free school kids that included 30 essential supplies, Amazon Fresh provided more than 325 boxes of fresh produce and lean proteins, and free physicals, vaccinations, and haircuts were also provided. Families enjoyed free food, drinks, live band performances, raffle prizes, games, and more.
“I want to thank all the local vendors and businesses who were able to make the 11th annual Back to School Health Fair a huge success,” said Speaker Welch. “I also want to thank my amazing district staff, family, and friends for contributing and organizing the event. It was a spectacular day, and it was made possible by so many wonderful people. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out!”
